What is the Alarm Scheduler?

The Alarm Scheduler is a lightweight, client-side web utility designed to manage recurring alarms and event timelines. Users can construct customized schedules—such as daily class periods, meeting agendas, or workout intervals—and configure specific active days, audio tones, and custom descriptions.

Equipped with built-in audio synthesis, custom audio uploading, desktop notifications, and standalone file export/import support (.bell files), it turns any web browser into a full-featured automated bell and alarm system.

  • Custom Schedule Names & Flexible Days: Title your schedule (e.g., "Block A Bell Schedule") and set specific active days of the week (Monday through Sunday) with quick checkbox controls.

  • Built-in Tones & Custom Audio Support: Choose from classic synthesized tones—including Classic Chime, Digital Beep, Gentle Gong, Modern Marimba, Bright Xylophone, and Soft Harp Arpeggio—or upload your own custom audio file (.mp3, .wav, etc.).

  • Save & Load Bell Files (.bell): Export complete schedule configurations to a lightweight .bell (JSON) file on your computer and reload them in seconds—perfect for swapping between standard, assembly, or block-schedule days.

  • Multi-Layer Alarm Alerts: Features desktop notification integration, an eye-catching in-page ringing modal with a prominent dismiss button, and a dedicated pop-up window option to ensure alerts are never missed.

  • Ordered Event Management: Automatically sorts your configured events chronologically while offering quick inline edit (✏️) and delete (🗑️) controls for every alarm entry.

  • One-Click Sound Test: Test your selected audio tone instantly using the built-in test button without waiting for an alarm to trigger.

  • 100% Client-Side Privacy: Your schedule details and custom audio files remain completely on your local machine—zero server storage or account requirements needed.

How It Works

  1. Set Active Days & Name Your Schedule: Name your schedule by clicking the edit icon near the header, then select which days of the week the alarms should ring.

  2. Choose Your Alarm Sound: Pick one of six built-in synthesized chime options from the dropdown, or select Load Sound (Custom File) to attach a local audio file.

  3. Add Events: Enter the desired alarm time (HH:MM) along with a short label (e.g., "Period 1 End", "Take a Break", or "Team Standup"), then click ➕ Add Event.

  4. Save Your Schedule: Click 💾 Save to download your complete configuration as a .bell file. You can restore this setup anytime by clicking 📂 Load.

  5. Keep the Tab Open: Leave the browser tab open during your day. When an alarm time is reached, the scheduler triggers audio, displays an in-page modal, and sends a system desktop notification.
